DATA Isn’t What You Think
Your brain fires over 100 billion signals every second.
Most remain invisible — micro-impulses shaping movement, memory, intuition.
DATA begins with just one of them.
The Data Editions explore how information flows inside living systems: how a signal emerges, travels, settles, and transforms.
Data Blue captures the outgoing impulse — bright, open energy, transmission.
Data Stone embodies its counterpart — reception, grounding, concentration.
Together, they form a living polarity — two phases of the same exchange.
Through hand-pulled silkscreen, a single impulse becomes shape and color.
An inner language — abstract, silent, essential.
This is DATA.
Color, inks, and paper:
Each edition is printed by hand on premium, uncoated 350 g/m² fine-art paper with a tactile matte surface.
Data Blue uses a mix of fluorescent blue and white to create a bright pastel blue layer, combined with soft opaque white for the circular forms. These inks sit on cobalt dyed-through paper, chosen for its deep chromatic base. The tinted substrate enhances saturation, while layered white ink produces a crisp, luminous signal against the dense blue field.
Data Stone is built with ultramarine blue and layered opaque white. Its base is stone-tinted dyed-through paper — a warm, refined beige reminiscent of natural kraft, selected for its quiet organic presence and ability to hold light. Multiple white passes create subtle relief and intensify the visual pulse against the ultramarine.

Limited Editions
Each work in The Data Editions is part of a strictly limited release of 30 numbered copies, plus 5 Artist Proofs (AP) kept in the studio and not offered for sale.
Every piece is hand-pulled, signed, and numbered — and once the edition is complete, it will never be reprinted.
An edition exists only once.
Choosing a limited edition means collecting an artwork conceived to endure: accessible yet intentionally rare, created to live with you and to stand within curated spaces.
Curious about how these prints are made?
The Data Editions are produced through a fully manual silkscreen process.
Inks are mixed in small batches, screens are aligned by hand, and each layer is pulled individually to control density, precision, and color stability.
On darker papers, the white ink is built across several passes to reach full opacity — a step that digital printing can’t replicate.
This slower method ensures what defines DATA: clean structure, durable color, and a finish impossible to mass-produce.
Art Born from Observation
Eilena Braye is a pathologist and multidisciplinary artist whose work begins under the microscope. The structures she observes — signals, networks, flows — become geometric compositions that reveal how the living world moves, communicates, and balances itself.
Murotopia is where scientific precision meets abstraction: a way of turning the invisible rhythms of the body into color, form, and signal.
FAQ — The Data Editions
What is a silkscreen / screen print?
A silkscreen (screen print) is a hand-pulled, artisan print created by pushing ink through a fine mesh screen that acts like a stencil. Each color has its own screen, and the inks are printed in carefully aligned layers to build depth, clarity, and a refined matte surface. All pieces in The Data Editions are crafted by hand in Switzerland in small, limited editions.
How it’s made (simplified):
- Artwork & color separations – the image is prepared so each color becomes its own layer.
- Screen preparation – a light-sensitive coating is applied to the mesh to create the stencil.
- Exposure & washout – the design is fixed on the screen; open areas will let ink through.
- Registration – the paper is positioned precisely so layers align perfectly.
- Printing – archival, water-based inks are pulled across the screen with a squeegee; layers are built up for density.
- Drying & finishing – each print is inspected, signed & numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Why collectors love it:
Rich, opaque color; crisp edges; a subtle, tactile feel; and small variations from the hand process that make each limited edition art print uniquely yours.
What paper do you use?
Premium uncoated fine-art paper (350 g/m²), acid-free with archival properties and a tactile matte finish.
- Data Blue: printed on cobalt blue, through-dyed paper for chromatic depth and coherence.
- Data Stone: printed on warm beige, through-dyed paper to enhance luminous energy.
What are the sizes?
Each print is A3 (29.7 × 42 cm).
Framed outer size: 38.9 × 51.2 cm (gallery-style).
Are these limited editions?
Yes — Data Blue and Data Stone are limited-edition art prints, each produced in 30 hand-pulled copies, signed and numbered. Each copy is signed & numbered by the artist (e.g., 12/30) and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. These are single-run editions — once the stated number is sold, the design is not reprinted. Subtle variations from the hand process make every print uniquely yours within the edition.
Is framing available?
Yes—optional (+CHF 60). Select Encadrement (option) / Framing (optional) to add a white solid-wood frame (made in Europe) with a colored fillet—tangerine for Data Blue, blue for Data Stone—plus a thick mat, shatter-resistant acrylic (plexiglass) glazing, and acid-free backing. Outer size: 38.9 × 51.2 cm. Delivered ready to hang (hardware fitted).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — via FedEx from Switzerland (tracking & insurance). Local taxes/VAT/duties may apply. Shipping to the USA is available for unframed prints only.
Can I return my order?
Murotopia is a small, artisanal studio. Each hand-pulled print can show subtle variations (ink layering, registration, paper texture) — these are part of the craft, not defects. Returns are accepted for unframed prints only within 7 days, unused in original packaging with the COA; buyer covers tracked return shipping. Framed orders are made to order and non-returnable unless damaged/defective (report within 5 days with photos).Duties/taxes aren’t refundable.
